Modern analytical techniques in the pharmaceutical- and bioanalysis
Dr. Istvan Bak
University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Center Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacology Pharmacutical- and bioanalytical division
The aim of this lecture note is to help pharmacy students of the University ofDebrecen to the successful completion of the pharmaceutical- and bianalytical chemistrycourse. It was a problem until now, that there was not available a unified book or lecture note,so separated books had to be used for the different topics. My goal was to create a lecture notewhich includes the latest and most modern methods in order to give competitive knowledge tothe studentsCurrently, the trend in the pharmaceutical industry and bioanalytical measurements isthat the analytes of interest in very low concentrations must be measured from lower andlower sample volumes. This note presents various instrumental analytical techniques, samplepreparation methods, in vitro and ex vivo systems which are frequently used in the drug R &D-, production- and quality control-processes and in pharmacokinetic, toxicity and drugmetabolism studies. Because the detailed discussion of the techniques is not possible in thisnote at the ends of the chapters I suggested books which deal with the given technique indetail.I hope that this lecture note greatly facilitates the preparation of students forexaminations and that after graduation they can use it as a reference.
